Ivan Tan embodies a unique blend of dynamic leadership and hands-on expertise, serving as the Co-Founder & Partner of Rightwiz.

With a keen eye for strategic direction and a hands-on approach to business, Ivan seamlessly navigates every aspect of the company’s operations, from sourcing new opportunities to meticulously ensuring the flawless execution of projects for clients.

For about a decade since 2006, Ivan dedicated himself to the Malaysian property market, co-creating the self-funded property magazine, Home Finder. This venture not only provided invaluable insights into the industry’s intricacies but also sparked a passion for delivering innovative solutions tailored to clients’ needs.

Transitioning from the property magazine publishing business into the next phase of his journey, Ivan assumed the responsibilities at Rightwiz, where he extends ideas and strategies encompassing marketing, communications and beyond to clients. From crafting compelling narratives to executing purposeful campaigns, Ivan thrived on the opportunity to expand his expertise beyond just the property sector and into a diverse range of industries including tourism, technology, entrepreneurship, training, distributorship, human resources, insurance etc. 

Notable projects include developing marketing collaterals for Resimax (Australian property developer), contract publishing corporate publications for Henry Butcher Malaysia (Malaysian real estate consulting firm), MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents), Medini Iskandar Malaysia (special economic zone in Johor, south of Peninsular Malaysia) and books like Energy Medicine, Overcome Tough Times, just to name a few.

Before his career in property publishing, Ivan began his journey in the IT industry after attaining a Higher Diploma in Business IT from Malaysia’s premier technology school at the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (now more popularly recognised as Asia Pacific University), which paved the way for the start of his IT roles in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. His tenure at way2work Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based Recruitment or Talent App start-up in particular, showcased his versatility and adaptability across industries, changing hats from a Project Leader/Manager to Product Manager when the company grew in ambition and stature to court customers from Singapore, Malaysia to as far as Hong Kong.

In addition to the above, Ivan also earned a personal scholarship for an opportunity to study abroad in 2002, pausing his professional career for 3 years to complete his Bachelor’s of Accounting & Finance at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. This transformative experience re-shaped Ivan’s worldview, instilling in him a deep sense of responsibility and dedication to excellence.

Upon graduation, he went to Sydney, Australia, and partook in the trading industry, dealing with a range of “People Friendly Products” when the ergonomic furniture, organic produce and natural personal care sectors were still relatively new in Asia Pacific.

Looking ahead, Ivan aims to expand his horizons and explore international markets in the post-pandemic world. This strategic objective reflects his deep desire to leverage his expertise and international experience, to contribute to businesses and communities on a global scale. As Ivan embarks on this exciting journey, his unwavering commitment to delivering superior results remains unchanged, making him a trusted partner for any project or endeavour he undertakes.
